I was initially drawn to the community of Amazing Grace because I found that the people here are grappling with a question that is important to me: How can we be faithful followers of Jesus in our world today? It may seem like a simple question, but it has far-reaching implications. Together we live out our mission to Join God at Work in the World through acts of love, service, and justice, and by offering an extravagant welcome to all people in the name of Jesus Christ. (When I say all people, I mean ALL people.)
Having grown up in the Lutheran church, I decided to spread my wings by attending an ecumenical seminary. United Theological Seminary was a good place for me to deepen my faith and learn alongside spiritual and religious leaders of various stripes.
As a second career pastor, I lived a bit of life before donning the clerical collar. I served in the Army National Guard, worked for ten years as a corporate trainer in the construction industry, and served as a chaplain in a long-term care facility. These were all good experiences that helped me grow in so many ways.
Meet me for coffee sometime. I would love to hear your story and learn how God is working in your life, about what you wrestle with and where joy shows up in your every day life.
