Worship and Music

Worship and Music

Gathered together in one body of Christ…that’s how we gather together for worship – united. Each person comes to worship for different reasons – for hope, to be renewed in faith centered on Jesus, or just to be together with a group of people who seek love and healing. Some people come for the music. Others really love the coffee, donuts, and conversation we share after worship!

Whatever your reason is you are welcome here! Together in worship we realize that we all come with open hands to receive love, healing, freedom, acceptance in Christ and in community.  There is always room for you!

Intergenerational Worship

Intergenerational worship is important to our life together at Amazing Grace, which is why we choose to integrate our prayer ground for the children within our service.

Welcome to the Pray Ground!

The Pray Ground is a space in worship where children can pray and play. This allows children and parents to fully experience worship while keeping children occupied with soft toys, activity bags, books and other activities.

The nursery is located in the back right corner of the fellowship hall. Ask an usher if you need any assistance. The nursery is not staffed, but is available for parents who want to accompany their child(ren) to a quieter space during worship.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your Sunday worship services like? What can I expect?

We follow the ancient liturgy of the church with a contemporary flair. We use modern, every-day language to express ourselves in things like creeds and prayers. We sing old and new songs set to music by piano and sometimes guitars or other instruments. Other “suggestions” can be found here:  https://www.livinglutheran.org/2019/07/perspective-a-pastors-rules-for-worship/

What are this community’s practices around Holy Communion?

We have an open table at Amazing Grace, which means that everyone (yes, everyone!) is invited to receive Holy Communion (also called the Eucharist).  Come and receive bread and non-alcoholic wine which for us is the body and blood of Christ. We also offer gluten-free wafer.  Then light a candle or enjoy quiet time for reflection or prayer.

A blessing is given to children who have yet to receive communion instruction. A Communion Workshop is held once a year and is open to children and adults of any age. Anyone interested in this workshop should contact the church office.

What about Baptism?

Baptism is a celebration open to all people regardless of age. Infants, children and adults are welcomed to the baptismal font. In baptism you become a member of the family of Jesus, splashed with water of forgiveness and given a blessing that will be with you your whole life long! Baptism is celebrated upon request. Contact the church office for more information.
